How to make Masala Paneer Grilled Sandwich
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
- Embake multigrain bread: 4 slices
- Paneer (cottage cheese): 200 g, cut into 1 cm thick slices
- Onion: 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Tomato: 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Green bell pepper: 1 small, thinly sliced
- Green chili: 1, finely chopped (optional)
- Fresh coriander: 2 tbsp, finely chopped
- Butter: 2 tbsp (for grilling)
- Oil: 1 tbsp
Spices for Paneer Masala:
- Cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
- Red chili powder: 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
- Chaat masala: 1/2 tsp
- Salt: to taste
For the spread:
- Mint chutney: 2 tbsp
- Mayonnaise: 2 tbsp
Method:
Prepare the Paneer Masala:
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
- Sauté the onions, bell peppers, and green chili until slightly soft.
- Add tomato slices, paneer, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Toss gently to coat paneer with spices. Cook for 2 minutes. Sprinkle chaat masala and coriander.
Prepare the Sandwich:
- Butter one side of each “embake multigrain bread” slice. Spread a mix of mint chutney and mayonnaise on the unbuttered sides.
- Layer the masala paneer mix on a slice, top with another, keeping buttered sides out.
Grill the Sandwich:
- Heat a grill pan or sandwich maker. Grill the sandwich until golden and crispy on both sides.
Pro Tip: Add grated cheese for extra indulgence.
Serve With: Spicy ketchup and a handful of roasted masala peanuts.
