How to make Aloo Chaat Sev Sandwich

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • Embake white bread: 4 slices
  • Boiled potatoes: 2 medium, mashed
  • Green chili: 1 small, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander: 1 tbsp, chopped
  • Chaat masala: 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice: 1 tsp
  • Tamarind chutney: 2 tbsp
  • Green chutney: 2 tbsp
  • Butter: 2 tbsp
  • Sev (thin gram flour noodles): 1/4 cup

Method:

Prepare the Aloo Chaat Filling:

  • Mix mashed potatoes with green chili, coriander, chaat masala, red chili powder, and lemon juice. Adjust salt to taste.

Assemble the Sandwich:

  • Butter the outer sides of each “embake white bread” slice.
  • Spread green chutney on one side of two slices and tamarind chutney on the other.
  • Layer the spiced potato filling and sprinkle a generous layer of sev over it.

Toast the Sandwich:

  • Heat a tawa and toast the sandwich until golden and crisp. Press lightly with a spatula for even cooking.

Pro Tip: Add a layer of grated beetroot for a pop of color and nutrition.

Serve With: Sweet mango pickle and a chilled glass of masala chaas (spiced buttermilk).
